What is therapy really about?
Therapy is about your relationship to life.
This is a time to focus on you and what matters to you most. Your life is unique and needs focus and attention.
Something brings you in; that something is asking for attention.
This is not time for a one-size-fits-all approach.
Therapy is about supporting you, seeing the way to make good choices, finding motivation, making changes.
Life-change involves addressing emotional hurt. It can be all varieties: dull, constant, melancholy ache, the incessant pulse of worry, the agony of a heartbreak, or a repeating fight with the person you love that simply cannot continue.
Dreams and hopes are hard to hold onto when the pain feels overpowering. It means you survive but cannot thrive.
Thriving is when you can see old pain differently, you find tools to lovingly soothe it, and hold your relationship with yourself and your priorities in front and center.
Transformation comes from creative personal solutions, tools that are crafted and applied so that you can address problems that seemed unconquerable before. Transformation starts when the inner voice has a nurturing home.
Therapy is about connecting.
When you are detached from people, intuition, and relationship, everything is a question without an answer. Motivations and purpose are foggy; your path forward is dim and needs more light.
How can connecting shed light on your situation?

About Me
The mission of Julia Flynn Counseling is to provide care that transcends expectations.
I have created a place for compassionate care of the mind, psyche, and emotions of the modern adult.
It is my way of taking part in the transformation to conscious care that will make this world a more loving place to thrive in.
This is mental healthcare that:
- Meets you where you are as a human being, not defined by diagnosis (because insurance companies don’t pay me, you do)
- Has a focus on compassion… and gives space for your feelings
- Pays attention to strengths as well as growing edges
- Takes the time (sessions are longer, and we stay in touch between sessions if needed)
- Listens and remembers you
- Connects you to your inner wisdom
